Our Cause

Advancing the Fight Against Pulmonary Fibrosis

The Feldman family created the Feldman Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in 2018 after five years of growing our fundraising efforts and working diligently to make a difference in the lives of those affected by pulmonary fibrosis. Our father passed from the disease in 2013, and since that time we have enhanced and grown our outreach and developed a large-scale event that today is recognized as one of the largest Texas hold’em charity events in the state of Illinois. Even more important, our tournament—the Irv Feldman Texas Hold ‘Em Annual Tournament & Casino Night—is one of the largest third-party charity events in the country dedicated to the fight against pulmonary fibrosis.

We partner with the Chest Foundation—one of the most renowned organizations in the lung health space—to raise awareness of pulmonary fibrosis and make a difference in the lives of patients and families impacted by this horrible disease.

At our first event in 2013, we raised $7,000 in the back room of a friend’s baseball academy; since then, we have gained numerous corporate sponsors and best in class in-kind donors and raised nearly $1,000,000.

The Feldman Family Foundation is proud of what we have accomplished but know we have much work to do. We do our work in the loving memory of our father Irv Feldman who lived the values we hold close to our hearts and that drive the Feldman Family Foundation.

Our Mission

The Feldman Family Foundation supports patients, families, and caregivers impacted by pulmonary fibrosis. We raise awareness and fund programs with partners that create a powerful difference for those living with and learning about the disease.

Our Vision

Lead the fight for those impacted by Pulmonary Fibrosis to breathe freely.
